I’m supposed to be sitting around with my feet up today. My blood pressure was just a teeny bit high on Tuesday. When the midwives asked if I had been resting, I had to admit I had not. Problem is, when I sit for more than five minutes, especially with my feet up, I tend to fall asleep. As tempting as that sounds, it’s not the best idea when you have four to six toddlers running around the house!
Our new Little Bundle is the owner of a three drawer plastic cart that is just the perfect size for the space (and for his 0-6 month clothes).
The plastic shelf, hanging sweater shelf (which is holding socks, underwear, and t-shirts), and the three drawer cart are all from Walmart. The small green buckets are from The Dollar Tree.
I absolutely love having my four kiddos in the same big room. It reminds me of an old fashioned English nursery (although it doesn’t look very old-fashioned or English). Eventually the three girls and the two boys will need to be separated into two rooms, but for now this is the perfect situation for us.
Our only clothes closets are in the kids’ room. They’re both pretty packed, but I use space bags and under-bed boxes for out-of-season and and growing-into clothes. The Lil Prince has his own dresser inside the closet; but for socks, underwear, tights, winter accessories, etc. we now have these cute plastic buckets on a built-in shelf.
We have one small very retro bath with a floor that never looks clean. I love back and white though, so it was fun to play that up a little bit. I think the key in a small space is to work vertically. The white plastic shelf is the same as the one in our bedroom, and has actually borrowed a tier from that one. The metal under-shelf storage baskets are also from Walmart, and the buckets in all three rooms are from The Dollar Tree.
So, there you have it. Of course it helps that five of us are little; but that’s how we fit!
